I live for the Broadway community teaming up to take down companies when they post trashy ads

Does no one even realize that the world kind of functions around the arts, anyway? Like; a good portion of the world’s economy is tied up in storytelling. Advertising is storytelling, movies, books, literally every form of human entertainment- games, videogames, the fancy packaging on a starbucks PSL latte; all of that is ‘the arts’. And yet it’s one of the only ‘fields’ that’s consistently told should be replaced by ‘sensible’ things like STEM. If we’re all Engineers and Botanists because the arts are ‘useless’, who the hell is going to be making the movies and books and franchises and comics and everything else people consume on a daily basis? Engineers? Yeah I’d like to see that.

This brochure might as well say ‘Give up on your passions/dreams because you won’t make money at them, kids!’ - yeah, the Entertainment Industry is really hurting, you guys, they don’t make any money at all /s.

The arts are essential even to STEM careers. Who do you think makes your makeup and personal care items? You don’t get MAC and YSL lipsticks without a knowledge of color theory.
